The Third International Biomedical Forum of West China (IBFWC)
Thank you and good morning. On behalf of Organizing Committee and Shihezi University, we are honored to invite you to the Third International Biomedical Forum of West China that is held from June 22-24, 2015, Shihezi City, Xinjiang, China. We would like to thank all the academics and distinguish scientists to attend the meeting, and also want to thank you for your hard works to promote the academic exchanges, collaboration and friendship between you and the people in Xinjiang. The meeting is co-sponsored by the Association of Science and Technology and the Bureau of Foreign Expert Affairs of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. The theme of this year’s forum is ‘Bone, Stem Cell, Cancer, Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases’. It aims to improve the biomedical and translational research and increase the level of prevention or treatment towards the major diseases in the Western China, especially in Xinjiang.
Shihezi is a city built by immigrants, which is well-known as “the Jade of the Desert” and is awarded the “Improving of Living Environment Good Example Prize” by the United Nations in 1990. In 2015, Shihezi wins the title of “National Civilized City”. With school history of 66 years, Shihezi University now is a major “211 Project” university in Northwestern China. In the past several decades, Shihezi University has attracted many excellent scholars from outside Xinjiang to teach and study, and has been funded for many basic research and clinical projects on special Xinjiang Endemic and Ethnic Diseases. Our faculties have published their major findings in core journals such as Nat Med, Nat Biotechnol, Cell Stem Cell, and Cell Signal, etc. And in virtue of “Modern Silk Road Plan” and the devotion of all academic colleagues here, we are sure that this year’s meeting will provide more opportunities for future academic exchange and collaboration.
We sincerely welcome you to visit our beautiful city and university. Please enjoy your stay.
The Presidents of the IBFWC: Prof. Xu Cao and Prof. Yong Zheng
